Live your best life now – ditch every personal agenda.
We all have great plans for our lives. We daydream about the perfect future filled with all our heart desires. We paint a picture of the future with splashes of bright colors accentuated with trims of gold. However, as we grow older and have the benefit of hindsight, we often realize that we really did not need what we thought we needed.
God has the perfect plan for your life. He knew you before you were born and He designed the perfect life for you. Embrace the plan of God for your life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
To fulfill your destiny, you have to be willing to relinquish your personal agenda and embrace the agenda of God for your life.
Mary was a regular girl who lived in Nazareth. She was engaged to be married to Joseph in a few months. Like a typical bride, she was busy planning for her wedding and daydreaming about the perfect future that was about to begin. Then an angel visited her with a message that disrupted her life forever. God had chosen her to be the mother of Jesus.
Be willing to entertain divine interruptions to your plans
Mary was excited about Jesus and was willing to accept the change in plans for her future. However, there was no significant change in her personal life. There was no public status or great prosperity added to her family. She still had to live a normal life with challenges. When the time came for her to give birth to Jesus, she was on a trip with Joseph and they couldn’t get a room in the hotel. She gave birth to the son of God in a manger. When it was time to dedicate Jesus in the temple, Joseph and Mary could not afford to offer a lamb, they went to the temple with two turtle doves.
If Mary had grandiose ideas of the personal privileges of being the mother of the Messiah, she would have lost her joy and missed the blessing of her assignment.
Keep doing right. Do not let any situation discourage you.
We all know Jesus as the son of David. He is referred to as the son of David many times in the bible, but there is very little mention of Nathan- the immediate son of David who was the forefather of Jesus. Nathan was one of the four sons of David and Bathsheba. Nathan and Solomon the King were siblings from the same mother.
There was so much drama in the house of David. There was incest, murder, envy, insubordination, war etc. His sons had personal agendas for the throne. Nathan grew up in the midst of all the chaos of the house of David. He was probably the peaceful and the law abiding son who felt left out of all the ‘fun’. What did he get for his faithfulness? – Nothing. Life in the palace was fast paced with endless conspiracy theories. His brother became king and was blessed with unprecedented wisdom, so much that he became the greatest man on earth. It seemed as if Nathan would have an ordinary life with no noteworthy accomplishments.
However, the most important promise of God to David was fulfilled through Nathan. Jesus was his direct descendant. Jesus did not come through any of the popular sons but through the faithful Nathan. The everlasting covenant of God was established through Nathan who had no personal agenda for the throne or for his father’s inheritance.
God always rewards faithfulness
Let the focus of your life be to do the will of God.
Like Mary, you should be open to divine interruptions. Give God access to your life. Be available as a vessel He can use for His glory.
Do not always look for what you can get from God. Be willing to be the source of blessing to others
Like Nathan, be faithful even when it seems nothing exciting is happening in your life. You may be the bridge to the greatest blessing. Be yielded to God and focus on enjoying each day.
Do not let personal agenda keep you from the best of God
Trust God – He knows what is best for you:
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)
Have an amazing week
Wow!!! This is loaded. I’m so blessed by this message. May the Lord continue to increase your anointing. Have a blessed week too.
Amen! Thank you so much.
It is so easy to forget what life is all about. The most important thing in life is to do the will of God.
The truth is that we really do not know what is best for us. We all have dreams and expectations of what we want our lives to be – but God can do much more than we can ever imagine
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Ephesians 3:20
God will exceed our expectations! It’s time to dream big and surrender to God’s agenda. He is an awesome God and His power is at work in us.
