“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt
Our choices make us. We are like the stewards whose Master entrusted with talents before embarking on a long trip. What we do with our talents and gifts determine the quality of our lives and the reward we would get when Jesus our Master returns. We are not expected to sit around waiting for Him. We are commanded to do business with our talent till He returns
What talent do you have and what are you doing with it?
When the master of the servants returned, he requested that the servants give an account of their stewardship. The master commended the faithfulness of the two servants who were profitable. As a reward, each servant received greater authority.
What would you have to show for the investment of God in your life?
“Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will work for kings, not unimportant people.” Proverbs 22:29
It is not what you do that matters, but how you do it. What is your attitude to your work? Are you doing the barest minimum waiting for the perfect opportunity to come your way? God expects more from you. God expects you to consistently strive for excellence in all that you do.
“And if you are not found faithful with what is not yours, who will give you what is yours?” Luke 16:12
“Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters, remembering that it is the Lord Christ who is going to pay you, giving you your full portion of all he owns. He is the one you are really working for.” Colossians 3:23-24
Work Ethic: Do Everything As Unto God
The third servant kept the money his master gave him and refused to trade with it. He allowed fear to keep him out of the game because he believed a lie. The Master called him a wicked and lazy servant. His wickedness was that he did nothing.
Doing nothing with what God has given you is wickedness.
No excuse is valid for doing nothing. Do not let fear keep you immobilized. It is your responsibility to use ALL that God has given you. There is something in you that the world is waiting for. No matter where you are today, you can do better. Kick your excellence up a notch and become the standard.
Stop waiting for the perfect time – today is the best time to take action
The Lord will bless all the work of your hands. Step out in faith today and be excellent.
