Every morning, when my daughter sees me, her beautiful face lights up with a smile as bright as the noonday sun as she squeals with delight, “Good Morning Mommy!” and runs to give me a hug. I always beam, scoop her up and kiss her with the words, “Good Morning Princess”!
I really look forward to greeting her every morning. She serves as a constant reminder that each day is a treasure to be enjoyed. She reminds me of the beauty and joy of each day. Every morning, I look at her and think – I don’t ever want to lose my glee! This is exactly how I want to embrace each day with joy. I want to be childlike (note: not childish) as I bask in my heavenly Father’s love and allow Him to order my steps each day. I want to open my eyes and smile at heaven with the words: Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads me with benefits, the God of my salvation! (Psalm 68:19)
“At that time the disciples came up and asked Jesus, Who then is [really] the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And He called a little child to Himself and put him in the midst of them,And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew18:1-4 AMP
Jesus used the analogy of a child to teach His disciples a critical lesson about life. Instead of getting caught up in everyday life and the quest for significance, a child is totally dependent on parents to meet every need. God wants us to be confident that He will take care of us, meet every need and order our steps each day. We should never get to the point when we feel self-sufficient or capable of handling life on our own.
We were made to depend totally on God for each day
Having a childlike character involves trusting God implicitly, loving selflessly and forgiving readily. We are not supposed to grow up and gain enough wisdom to control of our own lives. We are to remain humble and constantly desire for more of God.
God wants you to be excited at the dawn of each day. He wants you to embrace His goodness each day and believe that He will take great care of you. He desires to be good to you. He wants you to stop worrying and simply let Him be God in your life. God wants you to cast all of your cares on Him and leave it there!
God wants you to let Him love you.

Oh, what a lovely article. To have childlike trust and love towards our heavenly Father is something pleases Him. I have to remember to let go and let Him handle my problems.
Thanks Mary! That is so true – we please God when we have childlike trust. We also honor God with our total dependence and the magnitude of our expectations. We need constant reminders to trust God implicitly- no wonder the bible says we should labor to enter His rest. Once we enter into the rest of God, we cease from all our labors!
I pray that God will keep you and reveal Himself to you in a new way in Jesus name. God bless you!!!
