POWER IN YOUR WORDS

Jesus once saw a fig tree covered with leaves (fruit appears at the same time as leaves on the fig tree). He checked the tree for fruit, but found none. Disappointed, Jesus said to the tree, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”

By the next morning, the tree had completely withered away to its root. Jesus’ disciples were totally impressed that the tree had withered – just like Jesus had said. In response to their excitement, Jesus said:

“Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:22-24

Jesus did not have to checkif what He said would happen. He spoke in faith and he believed it would happen. Jesus used that incidence to teach his disciples about the irrefutable power of faith-filled words. If you don’t doubt in your heart, you will have what you say.

The bible says, “whatsoever you ask when you pray, believe you receive it and you will have it”. Even when the answer does not come immediately, you can choose to praise God by faith because your prayers have already been answered.

Praise is the bridge between your expectation and your reality.

What would your life look like if everything you say about yourself comes to pass?

Our words are not simply for communication. We were made in the image and likeness of God; our words have creative power- just like the words of God. As Jesus is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17)

You are not helpless. You are an active player in your own life. You can use your words to shape your world.

Do not just sit back and allow life to ‘happen’. You can take authority over your situation in Jesus name.

Stop reiterating the problem; instead declare what you want to see. Steer the course of your life with the word of God by speaking life into every dead situation.

“You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:28

When you say what God says, your words are backed by the power of God

The secret of Jesus’ success on earth was His total dependence on God. He said only what He heard His Father say and did only what He saw His Father do. “ …whatever I speak, I am saying [exactly] what My Father has told Me to say and in accordance with His instructions” John 12:50

The only way to know God and walk in power like Jesus did is to spend quality time studying the bible and getting the Word into your heart. As you study the Word, your faith will grow because faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Thoughts fuel words. Therefore, the more you meditate on the Word of God, the more you will talk like God and walk in greater victory.

 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

    In heaven, you are acquitted by your words and you are condemned by your words (Matthew 12:37) – Implying what others or situation or anything says about you is not as important to God as what you say about yourself – no matter what!

  2. Thank you Kehinde – you are so right!
    It is critical to say only what God says about your life. Choose to speak ONLY the Words of life – especially when the situation does not look good. Declare what you want to see and call into existence things that don’t yet exist by the power in the name of Jesus.
