What does Christmas mean to you?
To some people, Christmas is all about giving and receiving gifts
To some other people, Christmas is simply a special time spent with family
To some people Christmas is a season filled with pain and loneliness
To some others, Christmas means nothing…
Christmas is more than the movie marathons, carols and seasonal merchandise and food
Christmas is more than the tree, the lights, the stockings, and the colors green, red and gold!
Christmas is definitely not about Santa Claus, elves and reindeers
Christmas is so much more…
Christmas is a season of joy!
Christmas commemorates the greatest gift of God to man- the gift of Jesus
There is a tendency to get caught up in the fanfare of this season and forget what Christmas is all about
The gift of Jesus is the gift of life!
Because Jesus came to the world, we are redeemed!
Because He came and died, the penalty for our sin was paid.
Because He came, we have the right to an abundant life.
The gift of Jesus gives hope that makes it possible to have a new beginning.
The gift of Jesus is not limited to Christmas and December 25; it is the gift that enables us to make the decision to turn to God and enjoy His grace at any time of the year!
Because of Jesus, we are reconciled to God – what an amazing gift!
“Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:10
This Christmas, be reminded that Jesus came into the world to give you hope. Because of Jesus, there is life! Because of Jesus, you can look forward to a tomorrow filled with joy, peace and prosperity.
Jesus declared His purpose in John 10:10; He said “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
Jesus came to give us life- That is the joy of Christmas!
Because of Jesus, you have access to life. Because of Jesus, you can have a new beginning.
Because Jesus came, you can have and enjoy life
Jesus is anointed to do the following:
- Proclaim good news to the poor = new beginning!
- Proclaim freedom for the prisoners = new beginning!
- Recovery of sight for the blind = new beginning!
- Set the oppressed free = new beginning!
Hallelujah! This is the season of joy and new beginnings!
It’s time to rise up and begin again! It does not matter what has happened before now
You can begin again! You can love again! You can live again! – That is the good news of Christmas!
“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:37
Merry Christmas!!!
